The Young Veins

The Young Veins Ryan Ross and Jon Walker

On July 6, 2009 it was announced that Jon Walker and Ryan Ross were leaving to embark on their own musical journey. On July 28, The Young Veins released their first single entitled Change.

Ryan’s voice is strong on the song. His voice sounds amazing throughout the entire song. Many people have been comparing his voice to Brendon’s. Ryan’s voice is not nearly as good as Brendon’s voice is but it is still good. People are being too hard on Ryan by comparing him to Brendon. His voice is strong and he has an amazing voice.

The song itself is an amazing song. The lyrics hold a lot of meaning behind them. Ryan has always been a very good lyricist and with the help of Jon, they were able to create a song filled with meaning, good lyrics, and a nice beat to it. Ryan and Jon did well on creating Change and for the first single they released as just the two of them, they did well on it. They’re going to go far with their band with songs like Change.

A lot of controversy has been started with people saying the band is trying to copy The Beatles. They aren’t at all. They do sound similar to The Beatles, but a lot of bands sound similar to each other. Are they just being given a hard time because fans are angry at them for leaving Panic! At The Disco or do they simply not like it? That is a question that has an answer that can vary from person to person. To me, I don’t think they’re trying to copy The Beatles. They are however strongly influenced by the band and other bands like them.

The boys left Panic! At The Disco to go in a different musical journey than Panic! At The Disco did, not everyone favors the path they took but not everyone will like their music. Panic! At The Disco and The Young Veins have very different music styles and being able to hear both of the singles from both of the bands on the same day helped people realize that.

I can say that Jon and Ryan deserve some congratulations for Change. The song was amazing. The lyrics, the rhythm to it, the vocals, everything was amazing on the song. Well done boys.
