Please Kill Me: The Uncensored History of Punk
Book cover.
When I first laid eyes on the book, it held my interest. Simply the title Please Kill Me, and the fact that it was about punk, made me want to read it.
So, I paid my $16.00. Although it was expensive, I figured it would be worth it.
I was right. It was amazing ! It wasn't a boring book about how it came together. You got a first hand look from the ones who were there, the ones who made it all happen, Iggy Pop, Nico, The Velvet Underground, Dee Dee Ramone, Joey Ramone, and a handful of more punk legends.
They took you inside the punk scene. Not all of it may be pretty, like the drugs, the sex, etc. But else would you expect?
I couldn't put the book down. It sucked me in from the very beginning, and I was hooked. I would highly recommend this book to those are into classic punk. But be warned: you may be shocked. This is NOT an innocent book. It may not be appropriate for those under fourteen, if you're not used to the language, the drugs, and other things. You won't find something that can feed your punk craving better, so I encourage you to read.
