Just Listen is a great story about a girl named Annabell. She lives in a nice house with her mom, dad and one of her sisters, Whitney. Whitney has a eating disorder, and her other sister, Kirstin always got attention no matter what. Annabelle was tired of not being noticed. And at school, she was a social outcast.
Her old friend Clarke hated her, her arch enemy made her life a living hell. She was falling apart by the seams. Except for modeling, which she wanted to quit. The person she played in a commercial was far from what she was. Until she met Owen. He also was a social outcast. This story talks about a girl who goes through a lot - family, friends, love and life. But she learns to go through it all with music.

I thought this story was great. One girl meets one boy and all at once everything changes. Even if she doesn't want it to. All of Dessen's books have that affect. The affect that touches your heart and makes you fall in love with the main character and feel what they are going through. I would suggest this book to anyone. On a rainy day, just curl up by the window and read. Soon you will find yourself lost in the drama and challenges of one girl's life and will soon learn to live with what you have.
You can't pick your family and you can't pick who you fall in love with or who you like. It just happens. It isn't our fault, we can't help it if we like the hot guy who mows the lawn next door every Monday. You have to spend time with that person to really know if you like them. Like it or not, it isn't what's on the outside that counts. And Annabell learns that.
