This is my new favorite book. Candy by Kevin Brooks is one of those books you really get into. One that you can't put down and you always want to know what's going to happen next.
Joe is just a regular guy living in London. But his life is changed forever when he meets the girl at the station with the skin and the hair and the eyes. He thought she was perfect... And even when he knew what she did, he still just couldn't get away.
Joe discovers a dark secret about Candy and is pulled into a world of drugs and thugs and he can't get himself out of it. This book is suspenseful, tragic, heartbreaking and thrilling. Another great book by Kevin Brooks is Kissing the Rain. Kevin Brooks is a great author who writes about things that teens and young adults can relate to.
This book isn't very well known but it can probably be found at your local public library (probably not your school library due to some of the situations and profanity used in this book). But it's worth it.
Candy is a great book for teens. It shows what some people do for love and how strong that power is. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
