TV Magic: Pushing Daisies

TV Magic: Pushing Daisies Pushing Daisies poster

I have never felt so pleased, so giddy, so happy, as I did after watching Pie-lette. A great episode that was full of color, magic and characters that were quirky but relatable at the same time. Pie-letter started with Ned the pie maker and his gift of being able to bring people back from the dead.

The rules go as follows:

  1. Ned can only bring the dead back for a minute,
  2. If they are alive for more than a minute someone else must replace them in death.
  3. The death is chosen by random proximity
  4. If Ned touches them again they are dead forever, he cannot bring them back twice.

Ned's powers are tested when his childhood sweetheart Charlotte Charles, ends up dead. He decides to let her live and try and build a life with her. Emerson Cod stumbles upon Ned's powers by accident and uses them to solve crimes and collect the reward. Ned must help Emerson solve crimes, while keeping his restaurant the Pie Hole open. Ned tries to keep to himself as much as he can to make sure no one really finds out his powers. Chuck begins to miss the life she used to have, and wants answers, but Ned doesn't want to give her all the answers she is asking about..

After having completed the entire series, now just yesterday on Youtube, I feel a little bit of sadness. To me Pushing Daisies was as good as it gets, as far away from normal as real life could possibly be. To me Pushing Daisies was absolutely amazing, it was the icing on my cake, it was the sprinkles on my doughnut. It was exactly what I wanted to watch.

The ending that Brian Fuller and his amazing team put together is one to be satisfied with, but it will always leave die hard fans wanting more. I loved this show, It was brilliant, and I don't know what I will watch now.
