Entourage
Promotional poster for Entourage
Entourage, a TV series that premiered July 18th on HBO, was originally conceived when Mark Whalberg (the creator and executive producer of the series) was asked by his assistant to film his friends, because they were "hilarious".
The show revolves around a young a-list actor by the name of Vincent Chase. 'Vince' grew up in Queens, New York with his neighborhood friends Eric, Turtle, Dom, & Cara & his older brother Johnny "Drama" Chase, who is now also an actor but with considerably less success. Drama has also claimed to have slept with over 1,000 women.
The series revolves around one of Vince's sayings, that he and his entourage are "Living the Life".
Besides Vince's loyal entourage, others characters with recurring roles are, Ari Gold, Vince's agent, and his wife Mrs. Ari and his gay assistant Lloyd. Shauna Roberts who is Vince's publicist. Billy Walsh an independent film maker who once directed Vince. Marvin who is Vince's accountant, as well as many more. (The full list can be found on Wikipedia.)
Aswell as the fictional characters, you can often fine celebrities playing themselves. For instance, in the episode No Cannes Do, Kanye West offers Vince and his friends a ride to Cannes, France in his private jet. And in the episode Sorry, Harvey suspense movie director M. Night Shyamalan makes an appearance.
Now if you are not interested in cameos from celebrities, you might like the humor in Entourage. Jam packed with raunchy jokes and the "F" word, but also smart comedy, it's sure to satisfy you in every way.
The four season hits TV stations soon, and I suggest you all try and watch this wonderful "dramedy" that will surely have you hooked.
